Pay:  Salaried, Exempt/Based on experience

Durations/Usual Hours Per Week: Permanent, full-time.

Shift/Work Days: Monday-Friday. 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Description Summary: Perform diversified internal cost quotation duties, as assigned that involve the determination of factory cost and expected profitability for new and/or modified designs that consist of manufacturing process flow, materials and labor standards, under the direction of the Purchasing Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work from new and existing electrical and mechanical engineering specifications, bills of material, material quotations, etc., to expeditiously generate internal cost quotations in accordance with Company policies and general objectives. Collaborate with Transformer Design and Mechanical Engineers in the interpretation of new designs or the identification of similar existing designs in order to determine best materials, components and alternatives.  Generate new shop/make orders.  Review previous shop/make orders for similar materials and labor for application to new quotes and quote updates.
  • Assist in the establishment of material standards. Collaborate with Purchasing to identify and evaluate best and alternative material and component values and sources.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to determine best production equipment, process and method, and with the VP, Engineering and Purchasing Manager to determine appropriate production facility.
  • Establish and maintain a production part family data base, including prior quotes, materials, components, sources, production location, etc.
  • Participate in Cost Take Out sessions to improve competitiveness, and Quote meetings to assess performance and assure most expeditious response to Sales.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or associated with the responsibility.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications Of Employer

  • Familiar with engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and bills of material. Knowledge of electrical transformer component materials, manufacturing equipment, assembly processes and labor desired. Equivalent to 2 years of technical college and over 1 year up to and including 2 years of experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound judgement required to quote on new designs and modifications to existing designs and determine accurate, expeditious routings.
  • Considerable accuracy and responsibility involved.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Experience with an ERP system desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
