Description

Location: 101 W. Waukau Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902

Pay: Starting at $19.33/hr., with wage rate progressions at 31 actually worked days, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months of employment.

Duration/Usual Hours Per Week: Permanent, Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week Minimum

Shift/Work Days: First Shift Only. Monday-Friday. 6:30AM to 3:00 PM

Overtime: Voluntary; for all hours worked in excess of eight8 in any workday; for hours worked in excess of forty 40 in a workweek; or for Saturday work typically 5 hour shifts if offered.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a variety of assembly operations concerned with the manufacture of telephone neutralizing transformers in accordance with engineering and customer specifications.
  • Work from bills of material, specifications, drawings, wiring diagrams, established practices and procedures. Use pneumatic hand tools, knock-out punch, riveter, impact wrenches, plastic welders, electric drill, wire strippers, and other related mechanic's hand tools. Interpret work orders, specifications, and drawings, and perform modification to panels, enclosures, and hardware to accommodate assembly specifications. Collaborate on major unit orders and complex units.
  • Lay out materials in accordance with established procedures and as directed. Select applicable components and subassemblies. Perform wet laminating process by dipping lamination assembly into varnish bath and setting aside for drying. Operate low lift hand truck to move, position and assemble transformers. Perform preliminary and final test of coils for breakdown, continuity, and excitation current.
  • Use brackets, core clamps and other mounting hardware to fasten and secure transformers, noise chokes, or completed subassemblies to panels or enclosures as prescribed. Make point-to-point connections of multi-wire harness assemblies in accordance with specified color codes and unit specifications.
  • Assemble and seal burial type telephone transformers as well as others in development. Prepare completed units and sections for final inspection and shipment. After approval for shipment, prepare skids, crates, or applicable enclosures in the larger units for protection in transit. Perform other related duties in accordance with workload requirements as assigned. Perform visual inspection of completed units and fill out audit cards in support of Quality Assurance procedures.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: Over 9 months up to and including 12 months of assembly experience desired, open to training the right candidate. Requires the use of specifications, work orders, drawings, bills of material, and wiring diagrams that require interpretation. Some judgment is required to select and assemble components, subassemblies and units, prepare completed units for final inspection and shipment in accordance with established methods and instructions. Moderate physical effort required to perform assigned work. Equivalent to continuously lifting or moving light weight material. Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform assigned work.
