WORK SITE: 101 West Waukau Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902
PAY: $65,000 to $82,000 starting annual salary. Salaried Exempt/Based on Experience.
DURATION/USUAL HOURS PER WEEK: Permanent, Full-Time/40 Hours per Week Min.
SHIFT/WORKDAYS: Monday through Friday. 8:00 AM TO 4:30 PM.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the material procurement, inventory control and warehousing operations under the general direction of the Vice President, General Manager. Responsibilities include coordinating the activities of the function comprised of purchasing raw material, vendor produced work-in-process, in-house produced and finished components, operating supplies; warehousing and inventory control.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and coordinate the work of approximately four to five persons engaged in material procurement, production scheduling operations, cost quoting, and inventory control management. Ensure they perform their duties effectively, while working collaboratively with other warehouse employees to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor purchased inventory levels, stock status reports and existing systems to be sure that they are working in the best interests of the Company. Motivate subordinates on innovations and improvements, as required.
- Collaborate with Sales, Production Control and others in the preparation of short and long-range forecasts, particularly as they affect negotiations for high costs and long-lead time materials.
- Coordinate the evaluation of new material and develop new or alternate vendors and designate those acceptable to Materials and Purchasing, Quality Assurance and Product Engineering. Establish purchase requirements with respect to lead time, economics, and related factors with due consideration for actual or anticipated sales.
- Maintain a good corporate image with outside vendors and visit vendor plants as appropriate.
- Supervise the subcontracting out of work, locating vendors capable of handling the contract to meet schedule, quality and service requirements. Obtain quotations and contract for work. Control programs to sell designated obsolete stock.
- Participate in production and staff meetings to provide support in the development of plans, policies and procedures. Collaborate with others, as assigned, on various management projects.
- Direct, assist and train subordinates. Respond to grievances at the primary level. Appraise work performance, conduct merit reviews, make recommendations on wage and salary administration, new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Collaborate with Production Supervisor and Human Resources on employee relations matters, safe practices, and adherence to the Labor Agreement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or associated with the responsibility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS OF EMPLOYER
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Valid Driver's License required; APICS Certification is a plus.
- Experience: Over 4 years up to and including 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Knowledge: Broad knowledge of material procurement, inventory control, warehousing, material specifications and electrical transformer manufacturing practices.

- Contacts with superiors, employees and vendors require a high degree of diplomacy and ability to deal with and influence people in all types of positions.
- Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits or attending industry events, including international travel to our facility in Mexico or to vendors in Mexico and Canada, typically 1-2 times per year as needed.
